St Clement and St James

St Clement Notting Dale and St James Norlands are two inclusive churches in one parish. We welcome everyone – regardless of age, gender, background or sexuality. The parish is fantastically diverse, with pockets of great wealth within a wider picture of deprivation.

Our sister charity – The ClementJames Centre – offers an ambitious range of educational, literacy and work programmes. Our church school was recently judged Good by Ofsted. We are proud to be associated with both organisations.

The congregations are relaxed and child-friendly, and we provide Sunday schools. Services are participatory and prayerful. The Eucharist is celebrated with reverence and conviction.

Enriched by the annual cycle of seasons and festivals, the liturgy is sacramental but not stuffy.

Many feel renewed by their experience of these sacred spaces. We invite you to join us.

The Eucharist is celebrated at St James on Wednesday at 10.30 am.

Morning Prayer is said at St James from Monday to Thursday at 8.15 am.

St James is open during the day from Monday to Thursday from 8.00 am until early evening. Closed from Boxing Day to 3 January.

  • Fr Alan Honorary Appointment

      At Evensong on Sunday 3 June (3.15 pm), Fr Alan will be installed by Bishop Sarah as a Prebendary of St Paul’s Cathedral. He won’t be leaving the Parish! Please let the Parish office know if you would like priority seating under the dome. Hopefully there will be a big parish presence.

Dedication of the St Clement Garden of Peace and Healing

24 hour Grenfell Vigil

June 13th 7.00 pm

We mark the first anniversary of the Grenfell fire, with a vigil at St Clement, from 7.00 pm on the evening before the fire began. Prayers will be said at 1.30 am. The vigil continues throughout the 14 June, concluding with a Eucharist at 6.00 pm (principal celebrant Bishop Graham Tomlin; preacher the Revd Mike Long). We hope that those who joined us last year will share in this day of solidarity and prayer, either at St Clement or in their own churches.
